There is something quite magical about finding an elusive African Broadbill as they hide in the understory of African forests. Well-camouflaged, they generally sit motionless, only giving away their presence with their wing song, one of the drawcards of finding these special little birds. You will find them perched on branches where they will make small cartwheeling flights, their wings producing an extraordinary call. Photographed here by Hugh Chittenden in Malawi, they are found in south-central and southern Africa.
