Paul Roos Gymnasium
Originally known as the Stellenbossche Gymnasium and later as Stellenbosch Boy's High School, was founded in 1866. When 564 pupils moved from its location in Victoria
Street into the new building in 1946, the school was renamed after the
legendary Paul Roos ("Oom Polla"), rector of the school from 1910 - 1940.
