The Bruynzeel House is a Landmark in Stellenbosch
18 Constantia Avenue Architect: Aardt BijlIt was built by the wood merchant and yachts man, Kees Bruynzeel, in 1962. The roof of the house is in the shape of a hyperbolic paraboloid, built with teak rafters and lined with yellow wood.
It is surrounded by a very large garden, full of indigenous plants and birds.Hans and Rosemarie Breuer acquired the property in 1981 and renovated it.
