More than seventy technical and scientific papers on geology, mineralogy, resources, clay materials, ceramics, archaeology and tertiary education appeared in international journals. Additionally more than fifty contributions were presented at international and national conferences on topics in these fields.

Guide to Deterioration and Failure of Building Materials, Thomas Telford, London, 2002
The Guide examines the interactions between environmental conditions, material properties and structural factors. It provides concise synopses and diagnostic tables to aid the analysis of building material failures and offers guidelines on appropriate remedial action.
A chapter and some illustrations were contributed by Tim Rypstra of Stellenbosch.
