Paddy Bouma was born on 18 April, 1947, at Cape Town. She studied Fine Arts at
the University of Cape Town (BA 1967) and Lithography
at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, (1968-69)
Paddy teaches part time Lithography and Illustration at the Department of Fine
Arts, University of Stellenbosch. In 1986 Paddy was shortlisted for the Kate
Greenaway Medal.
She is married to the architect Raymond Bouma.
Research interests: Prehistory and its representation.
The children's picture book.
Current projects: An illustrated book on human evolution.
Alternative comics.
Recent exhibitions:
2003: participated in an exhibition at Art on Paper, Mellville, Johannesburg,
titled "Comic Artists from South Africa and Reunion".
