Prof Steven Pinker of Harvard University, well-known for his research on cognition and language, and for his critically acclaimed books delivered two keynote addresses at the 3rd International Symposium on Intercultural Communication and Pragmatics and the Annual Joint Conference of the LSSA, SAALA, and SAALT in January 2008, hosted by the Department of General Linguistics and the Department of Curriculum Studies of Stellenbosch University.
