Leon Fouché

Henry Leon Fouché was born in Port Elizabeth in 1952 and grew up in East London and Roodepoort. He studied Philosophy and Theology at Stellenbosch University (BTh IV Theology, 1977, and DPhil in Philosophy, 2001). He is married to Sara (Coetzee), also an author and illustrator of his books. They have three daughters, Cara, Tanya and Nadia.
He was ordained in 1979 and served as minister in Knysna (1979-1988) and in Stellenbosch (since 1988). He also lectured several times as a temporary lecturer at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Stellenbosch.
His field of study (and passion) is philosophical hermeneutics that links up with nearly everything and ends up in practical philosophy.
He has published several articles in popular books and a few in scientific journals, and is the author of two books.
