J H Cilliers Author of theological publications Professor Emeritus in Homiletics and Liturgy, a former Head of the Department of Practical Theology and Missiology at Stellenbosch University, a former President of the Society for Practical Theology in South Africa, and a former President of the International Societas Homiletica Johan Cilliers studied at Stellenbosch University and for 18 month at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. The topic of his DTheolog thesis was Pneumatologie - taal - preekevaluering. For the next 18 years he served as minister in two congregations: Montclair in Durban and Stellenbosch-Centre. Since July 2001 he lectures in Homiletics and Liturgy at Stellenbosch University.
